Museum Saturday Gin Tasting with Wilderer

This tasting is sold out, if you would like to be put on a waiting list, please email denise@rupertmuseum.org.

Wilderer was established by Master Distiller Helmut Wilderer in Stellenbosch in January 1995 and enjoys the distinction of being South Africa’s very first craft distillery.

Today Wilderer Distillery produces award-winning grappa, schnapps, liqueur and gin from two premises in the vicinity of Paarl – one in Simondium, another on the celebrated Spice Route Destination Farm.

Using only the best custom built equipment available, Wilderer Distillery has accrued over 60 international medals and awards, Wilderer has truly become synonymous with quality, artistry and integrity. Isn’t it about time you sampled the brand of choice for connoisseurs around the world?

Join us for a tasting of the Wilderer Fynbos Gin & Wilderer Rose Water Gin.

Wilderer Fynbos Gin

This lively one-of-a-kind gin boasts a very well balanced assortment of herbs, spices and zest on the nose. On the palate, it reveals juniper berries, naartjie and Cape Fynbos herbs in stunning complexity. The Fynbos Gin is elegant enough to enjoy neat or in quality tonic water garnished with naartjie peel or cucumber and mint.

Wilderer Rose Water Gin

The Rose Water Gin is as fresh and floral as a breath of spring air. The distiller carefully infuses fresh rose petals along with juniper, cinnamon, cardamom and many more botanicals to naturally recreate Turkish Delight. Expect a well-balanced and subtle rose flavour with a complex background of juniper and spice. Even before its release, the Rose Water Gin immediately won two gold medals – a testament to the Wilderer standard.

The tasting takes 60 minutes and there are 3 time allocations:

12h00 – 13:00
