The “Spogmuur”

With Vision Afrika, The Sustainability Institute, Legacy Community Development, Anna Foundation and Green Door Project

Showcased 30 October – 15 November 2026

Since 2019, the Rupert Museum has been building relationships with a select group of local NGOs and NPOs. In this Outreach Programme, learners from local communities are taught the basic elements and principles of art and design through tailored theoretical classes and practical workshops.

This showcase of works was created by learners from The Sustainability Institute, Legacy Community Development, Anna Foundation and Green Door Project. To feature all the learners work, the display will change on a 2-week basis.

Each participating learner completed a series of creative worksheets which is aimed at establishing a foundation in visual literacy. After completion of the theoretical component, learners visited the museum for an afternoon of fun and hands-on application of knowledge gained, during which they completed a practical component.

Celebrating their creations, we proudly exhibit the works by the participating learners (grades 3 – 6) created during the third term. The topics of the terms’ sessions were space, scale and perspective. Upon their visit to the museum each created their own reverse perspective by either depicting their room, a room in the ocean or in the jungle, or their street.
