Description

A celebration of the father of modern tapestry presented by The Rupert Art Foundation.

In 1938 the Tabard workshop in Aubusson wove the first Jean Lurçat tapestry. Jean Lurçat is largely responsible for the revival of tapestry in the 20th century. He redefined the importance of designing them in a way that embraced the integrity of authentic tapestry.
