Winter School Holiday Programme: DRAWING between the LINES (13-16 yrs)

The month of July falls mid to historical events being celebrated throughout the year for challenging injustice and suppression, we referring to Freedom Day, Workers Day, Youth Day and Women’s Day. How do we raise our voice, give output to the things that make us uneasy, or are not spoken about enough? By using key artworks of both South African Contemporary artists Willie Bester and William Kentridge, you will be guided in how symbolism, metaphor with both image and colour can express these emotions and comments. Line, mark-making, colour, deeper meanings and narratives will be the focus as you are guided through drawing exercises to complete your final mixed media artwork.

All materials will be provided; please let us know about any allergies or dietary requirements when booking tickets, and we will do our best to accommodate them.
