Stations of Change with Museum Educator Maryke van Velden (18yrs+)

This oil pastel workshop draws inspiration from the expressive and richly symbolic works of Pranas Domšaitis, as showcased in the current Artist Spotlight Series. Participants will reflect on personal items and images to create a three-part visual narrative that aligns with Easter themes, such as sacrifice, redemption, illumination, and renewal. This explorative process will be unpacked through a series of guided, yet open-ended phases of making, which includes experimentation of oil pastel techniques. The workshop unfolds as a journey through a series of emotional phases, encouraging a focus on expression over realism.

No previous art-making experience is required; all art materials are provided.
