Museum Saturday Gelli plate printmaking with printmaker Marelise van Wyk (14years+)
Join us for a fun morning of experimenting with gelli plates and ink while exploring plant material, abstraction, and illustration. Gel or gelli printing is a printmaking technique that makes use of a gelatine plate to print monotypes and monoprints. Vast amount of experimentation is possible without the use of an expensive press.
The workshop will include demonstrations on various techniques, while you will be able to produce a set of your own prints as the class progresses. You will take your gelli plate home, with a recipe to make more.
All materials, a snack box and protective clothing will be provided, no experience is needed! Please advise if there is any food allergies.
