Drypoint Etching with printmakers Marelise van Wyk and Sanet Visser (18yrs+)

Two experienced printmakers will introduce participants to printmaking by way of drypoint etching on Plexiglass plate. Drypoint etching is a simple and easy process where the plate is etched by hand with a sharp etching needle instead of with acid. Participants will learn how to prepare their own plates, etch their design and make a small edition of prints on the day.

An extra and exciting method will be demonstrated – drypoint printing with Tetrapack (recycled milk/juice boxes). This is a fun and easy variation with lots of experimental possibilities to try further at home.

Please note that all materials and protective wear will be provided. We recommend that you wear older clothes, as the printmaking can become a messy affair.
