Abstract Impressions – watercolour workshop with artist Teresa Decinti (18+)

Get ready for a creative and explorative painting experience drawing inspiration from the current exhibition AbstRacT – the hidden synchrony in Gallery 4.

In this watercolour workshop with seasoned local artist Teresa Decinti, participants will explore abstract art inspired by nature, including seascapes, landscapes, flowers, and changing leaves. The abstract approach offers artistic freedom for a loose style, emphasising colour, line, shape, and textures to showcase individual personalities. The focus will be on spontaneity, colour blending, mark-making, and composition.

Participants will experiment with various techniques, such as using salt, bronzing powders, and other methods to break down barriers and create unique abstract pieces.

Lunch will be served in the MakerStudio13h00 – 13h45. Workshop attendees are invited to place their orders by 11h00 (kindly note that payment will only be via card and SnapScan). Participants are also welcome to bring their own lunches.

Teresa Decinti is a seasoned artist expressing her creativity through watercolours and oils. Having held numerous exhibitions in South Africa’s Western Cape and owned a gallery for 17 years, Teresa now operates from her studios in South Africa and Italy. In addition to showcasing her work at the Monteverdi Hotel in Tuscany, she is preparing for a solo exhibition in Rome in 2024 titled “Journey through Colours: Abstract Impressions of Italy.” Passionate about continuous evolution, Teresa also hosts an Art, Food, and Wine Retreat in Tuscany. Visit her website for more information. She extends her artistic touch to design watercolour wine labels for South African Zonderwater wines, available in Rome, Italy, believing that art should be both stimulating and rewarding.
