The Art of Wine – Talk with Christina Makris (18yrs+)

Good wine is never just a drink: it is a cultural artefact shaped by intention, labour, design, and earth. Across history, art and wine have continually inspired one another. This talk explores vineyards around the world as living galleries; where sculpture meets soil, art frames taste, and terroir becomes a story told through the senses.

Dr Christina Makris is a writer and cultural commentator exploring philosophy, art and the senses through wine and hospitality. She is the author of Art in Vineyards: Cultivating Culture (Skira, 2026), Aesthetic Dining: the Art Restaurant Around the World (ACC, 2021), and writes the wine column for Apollo. She holds a doctorate in philosophy and professional wine qualifications, and consults on luxury branding.
