Spherical Sampling with Museum Educator Maryke van Velden (18yrs+)

All my life’s a circle;
Sunrise and sundown;
Moon rolls through the nighttime;
Till the daybreak comes around.

 – Harry Chapin, ‘Circle’, 1975

This cut-and-paste meditation on the exhibition, Horison – land meets sky, explores dualities that are intrinsically bound: the visible and invisible, internal and external, earthly and heavenly.

Conscious and unconscious modes of making are drawn on where participants use circular shapes and automated writing to produce pairings of collages and concrete poems as symbolic coordinates to centre themselves in the present, and to map the future.

All materials included. All levels welcome. Kindly note that no refunds can be issued for cancellations.
