From Earth to Scarf with artist Sanet Visser (18yrs+) 

Try your hand at printing and steaming with natural pigments; an array of colours from penny gum and grey eucalyptus awaits, celebrating the warm and deep tones derived from the fruits of the earth.  

You’ll be introduced to the background of natural dyes, pigments, and colours available for the day, to inspire your design and the layering to follow, resulting in your own eco-printed linen scarf.  

The earthy and African-inspired colours join hands with the rich and enhanced palette observed in the works of well-known South African artist Cecil Skotnes, now on display in Gallery 3, part of the Artist Spotlight series.   

Continuing the celebration of Women’s Month, this workshop is also an ode to India Flint, an Australian textile visual artist who pioneered the eco-printing technique.  

The workshop is open to curious adults of all ability levels. All materials, textiles, and protective clothing will be provided. Due to the nature of this workshop, refunds cannot be issued for cancellations.
