Museum Saturday I THINK BEST IN WIRE with artist Sanet Visser (workshop for 9-12yrs)
Come join and explore the art of wire! In this common medium yet unknown to most, you will expand your line drawing and making skills. Playing with wire will allow you to explore shape and line in a whole different way.
Alexander Calder (America sculptor, 1898-1976) often carried a roll of wire over his shoulder and a pair of pliers in his pocket. He enjoyed working with wire, allowing him to create “drawings in space”, true to his slogan – “I think best in wire”.
This workshop will be presented in Gallery 4 currently featuring the exhibition IN-MOTION: Art of the Space Age. Wire works from futurist Giacomo Balla (Italian, 1871 – 1958) can be seen in his futuristic garden with dancing figures expressing energetic movements and lines. Be inspired and come create your own!
For the parents, join our wine and cheesecake pairing with Skilpadvlei! Book here.
All materials and a snack pack will be provided for the workshop.
Please note: no cancellations will be given a refund.
